Scattering cross sections and collision integrals for N(4S)–N<b>+</b>(3P) and N(4S)–N<b>+</b>(1D) interactions

Collisions between nitrogen (N) and ion (N+) are fundamental phenomena in the Earth planetary atmospheres. In this work, we carried out a theoretical study of collision data for N(4S)–N+(3P) N(4S)–N+(1D) interactions, including scattering cross sections integrals. Potential energy curves N2+ obtained using state-of-the-art ab initio method then used to provide input calculations resonant charge exchange elastic sections. The inelastic (corresponding process), elastic, total integrals interactions computed at 500 − 50 000 K. An analysis shows that process should not be neglected odd-order low temperatures still makes small contribution high temperatures. Note is first time interaction calculated potential points. essential model transport properties related plasmas.
